This is a permanent position, based in central London, for a senior Oracle DBA with 5 years or more experience. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-moving financial organisation that places high value on their IT function. This is a hands-on role for a well rounded Oracle DBA*Specialist.
The role must also be able to add value to the initiatives for Oracle High Availability, Scalability, Backup and Recovery and Disaster Recovery.
Essential skills for this role are: In-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i*10g RAC on UNIX (Linux) and demonstrable experiences in RMAN, SAN Replication, Dataguard, Streams, Import*Export, OEM Monitoring.
We are looking for Strong SQL skills and additional experiences in high volume OLTP systems, knowledge of a software development life cycle (ideally Java) and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will become involved in High Availability consultation, design, testing and implementation in conjunction with the IT Infrastructure and the Java*Web development teams. You will assist with the creation of policies and procedures to ensure that the Oracle Environments are maintained within a managed environment. In return, who will become the central figure for Oracle High Availability design and implementation in a progressive IT Environment.
